Everyone thinks that because I'm a PT, I must exercise all the time...WRONG!
I help OTHERS exercise all the time. And while I may get in some incidental movement while I demo the correct form on an exercise (get your butt back in those squats people!!), I don't get in a full workout during my boot camp.
But, I value integrity immensely, so I make it happen. How? SCHEDULING.
I'd like to say routine is the key. But the reality of life for most people these days is that no two days are the same. Between work, kids, social engagements and appointments - the juggle, and in turn the struggle, is REAL.
So believe me,when you're struggling to maintain a routine, don't fight it. Work with it. How? SCHEDULING.
The secret weapon on your phone is your Calendar. Use it - ALL THE TIME. Don't just use it for the kids schedule and when you need to worm the dog.
My sincere advice is to USE YOUR CALENDAR TO SCHEDULE WHAT YOU LOVE AND NEED.
Pick a time each day (the night before or early morning), to look over your day and make sure you BUILD IN JOY. Exercise, Drinks with Friends, Date Night, Your Tax (okay maybe that last one's a bit suspect, but you get my drift...).
Make time for the things you love. Life is too short not to.
